Platforms and the Chicken-and-Egg Problem.

One founder I worked with built a beautiful marketplace for local services. But they launched with too many service providers and no real demand.
We’ve all seen this — the classic chicken-and-egg problem.
To solve it, we paused supply growth and focused everything on landing the first 10 paying customers. We gave them a reason to use the platform: curated matches, early access, concierge onboarding.
Once we had real demand, we re-engaged the supply side.
This problem is common. But it’s solvable — if you stay focused and sequence things right.
